Crockpot recipes

Crockpot recipes in my opinion are some of the best made foods that you can have with or with out wine.

Now I am sure that some of you might think this is kind of strange to have crockpot on this site but if you are like me and you work a long day and are really beat after a long day at work the one thing you really don’t look forward to is standing and cooking meal for you and all your family. A crockpot is a great solution you can start a meal before you head to work in the morning and come home to a good meal.

The crockpot or slow cooker is one of the most convenient and easy to use appliances in my kitchen. The time savings features of the slow cooker and the delicious dinners.

I love the fact that you can cook either small or nice large cuts of meat such as a whole chicken or Pot roast now some foods are better roasted like leg of lamb or prime rib. There are some except for stews and chowders, the slow cooker does not cook fish very well so I would not recommend but there are lots of crockpot recipes to choice from including desserts.

There are some minor things that you do have to watch while using a crockpot is that it collects a lot of the juices since the steam does not escape during cooking and these juices can become diluted and watery, which can affect the flavoring of the food. Of course if you are cooking with wine or other added item it will become slow cooked into the food and change the flavor of it.

Also a crockpot can overcook food especially some of the more tender meats and poultry.The beauty of the crockpot is that you really don’t have to watch or tend over it to while it cooks, freeing you up to do other chores or recipes.

It also allows you to be out of the kitchen for extended periods of time sometimes even all day. You can do this with little fear of burning your food or having your food dried out as a matter a fact this is great for cooking tough types of meats the slow cooked process makes the meat nice and tender and when mixed with the right combination of ingredients can be a great meal.
